Issue of Crime

Crime needs to be addressed in Philadelphia and all across Pennsylvania now. I have broken down a list of five sections that I feel addresses this problem

  1. Increasing Police Officers
  2. Proposing and Passing the Protect the Protected Act
  3. Increase Penalties for Sexual Predators
  4. Stricter Control of Parolees
  5. Repeat Offenders

I support the Commonwealth Officer Act which would put over 10,000 new police officers throughout our entire commonwealth. By passing this act we would gain an advantage on criminals and would immediately go on offense when dealing with the growing crime rate. We must provide a proper shield for the hard working people of this state and keep them safe by any means necessary.

A protect the Protected Act would be a bill that would provide our police officers with increasing safety regulations and the ability to protect themselves. 2008 we have lost too many good men and women in uniform to the evils of crime. We need to be able to back up them as much as they back us. Providing the ability of safety to them, as they continue for us.

Sexual Predators should be put away for LIFE. No person would have to go through life worrying about the predators that lurk at night. I would support eliminating the insanity plea and enforcing and prosecuting them to the fullest of the law. I also believe that a predator that rapes an individual should be considered for a life in prison sentencing.

Stricter control of parolees is a must for our state and city to remain quite at night. When you act on a crime you live by that crime. I have known a few people who have gotten out of prison and lived long, fulfilling lives but we should always know where they live, and what they have done.

Repeat Offenders should immediately skip the trial and head straight to prison. A repeat offender should serve double the sentencing of their crime.

Overall we need to protect the people, and the children of this state. Children are playing hide and seek with bullet passing their heads. And too many cops have said goodbye to their families for us to just sit still. We have no time for criminals.

Issue of Corporations

When dealing with corporations there are three divisions that I would like to cover which are Labor, Minimum Wage and Farming.

Labor:

Unions are probably the most discussed issue that gets passed along when dealing with labor. In PA over 830,000 people are part of a union which accounts for only 13.4% of the employed workers that could be part of a union. Union dues and poor representation has caused this low number of workers from actually joining a union. Union dues seem to be extremely overly calculated and too cost effective, all meaning you better off not paying. One person representing over 25,000 families with different problems and expenses is a hard task. In my opinion I feel that Unions no longer server there purpose and neglect a good amount of our work force. Now I am not supporting dismembering these unions but rather giving them more options. For many of you who join unions fear political backlash or rather misjudgment if you disagree with the powers to be. There is a reason why more then an overwhelming majority are against unions because they have lost there way. Unions have become too political, and fail to do what they were originally created to do. Union must stay out of government and out of pocket of a political party. I favor cutting the corporate income tax that would provide stability to jobs that are here. We need to enforce prohibitions to corporations and unions to avoid corruption and favoring a one side political arena. We must get unions to start doing the right thing, rather then the political things.

Minimum Wage:

For years we have seen minimum wage increased over and over again with the same result of not enough money to balance out inflation and the weight of the dollar. Minimum wage must remain a permanent wage with no increase due to the uncontrollable inflation. This is not a popular political stance but at least affordable. If we keep the wage at a steady wage then we could gain an advantage over inflation. Over a decade we continued to raise the minimum wage whenever there was a problem, showing strong fiscal responsibility would be rewarding to everyone. I would support a law that would require those making minimum wage to still receive a type benefits, even if they work part time. Another reason why we always increase the minimum wage is because of lack of benefits and the cost of living has increased. Simply making employers supply their employees with the sufficient amount of benefits will help this cost effective problem.

Farming:

In PA are legislature has dealt with the question of “what is a farm” rather then dealing with foreign suppliers and decrease in livestock. The US farmer use to be one of the most respected jobs to have in our country. Many of our founding fathers and many US Presidents were former farmers. But because of greed and foreign goods we see that our goods can not match up. We need to control the subsidizing of our farms and increase a buyers market. By subsidizing our farms we can provide relief that would help improve livestock’s, and increase a market total. I would support a farm bill that would benefit many farm areas in our great state. Also this would create jobs and decrease the overall price of food.

Issue of Civil Rights

Education, Healthcare, and Social Security are all civil rights that I believe that every American should have. From the birth of our country to the battles we have fought and won, civil rights have been debated for centuries. For me, I was raised as a young catholic one who treated all walking life with respect and honor. That same belief is what I preach and talk about everyday. We can not judge each other for any of our differences especially in this generation that will be tested beyond the color barriers or the gender problems but challenged by a greater obstacle. Education must and should be available to all Americans. The word I am forget is quality of education must be given to all schools no matter what their economic status is. We have to find a way to make sure that we are doing all we can to rescue this system. Healthcare for all those in need, and not putting a price tag on a life is something that I would fight for. Doctors should become doctors to save lives not for the good living, and fancy cars. And Social Security should definitely be available since it has been our generation that has paid into it, and the past generations that have fought hard to receive it. All of these things are what I consider civil rights issues for this generation.

American Indians are still a struggling civil rights issue that still has gone on without any help. America’s longest civil rights abuse has been done to the American Indians, the natives of this land. I have visited Wyoming at least twice now, and worked with many tribes in that area. It is said to know that in the next two generations they could possible be wiped out. We must try our best to help these people, by helping them overcome their addiction to drugs and alcohol. To improve their head start programs with the necessary equipment and supplies needed to run sufficiently. There are many ways in which we can help this dying civilization that has gone without recognition, without service, and without help for decades, and may not survive much more. I would try my best to make sure that we would restore faith in all Americans. Passing a flag burring amendment would be also a bill I would favor passing to preserve a flag that has stood both through war and bloodshed.

Overall I believe we need to restore faith in our education system, energize our healthcare, salvage our social security program and save the American Indians. All of this can be done, if we start working rather then speaking.

Issue of Budget and Economy

Budget:

I would support a Balance Budget Amendment, which would require state and local governments to balance out the budget to reduce the dependence of taxes to stimulate spending. For years we have seen those in power forget what its like to manage a budget with restrictions. Ask the everyday family and they will give you their restrictions on their budget. If the families of this state and for this country are forced to manage their budget to make ends meet, so should our elected officials. A balanced budget amendment would secure and guarantee that the budget would not carry any deficit and reduce the debt that has been created through wasteful spending. A revaluation of welfare would also be a priority of mine, to assure the tax payers money is being put to work. If welfare continues to go with corruption then the program would have to be eliminated but quickly replaced with a none corrupt program.

A lime item veto would be a beneficial thing to have when dealing with the state and executive budget. A lime item veto would be a sufficient way to obtain check and balances on the budget. Unlike Gov. Ed Rendell we need to make some limitations to this veto so that is doesn’t get abused. Such limitations would be, veto can be override by a public vote (meaning by election by the people), supreme court, and if the majority of our legislature overrides it (both houses with 65% not just a majority) could limit the powers of this veto. So quickly, I would support balance budget amendment, lime item veto, revaluation of the welfare program, and cut spending deficits through both programs and budget amendments.

Economy:

Our economy has been in dark waters for along time now, only now care to notice. We can not, and should not allow for a bailout to pass through. A bailout will not help our cause and only would put a band aid on the problem. We need to re-evaluate the fundamentals of our economy, and fix what’s wrong with it. Wall Street will rebound soon as trust in government is returned. A good economy is one with strength and trust. Again finding the problems with the economy eliminating them, and then forcing corruption out would restore some faith in our economy. I would appoint an unpartisan and unbiased committee to investigate this situation. We also need to have to maintain spending caps for the future, so we don’t get to ahead of ourselves. These caps will show us our limitations, so we can show constraint towards our economy.

Restore jobs by providing a fair and much organized unemployment program that would be sufficient in finding work for all people. I would create a position that would work closely with the department of unemployment to make sure that all the needs of the people are respected. Never to cut jobs for economic reasons is an oath I promise to make. If our economy in decline we must not put the burden on the work force. Jobs are the backbone of our economy without them we can not expect our economy to grow.

Overall we must do everything we can do to stimulate the economy and balance the budget.

Issue of Abortion

Abortion seems to be a topic in which many of us feel uncomfortable to talk about, and politicians try to avoid making a solid position. I am solidly a pro life advocate and feel that an abortion during any month is and should be avoided. Now I don’t know what it’s like to be a woman and the decision in which are usually brought on by this situation but I feel if you made the decision to have sex then you accept the actions for its pleasure and its costs. Having two sisters, and a dominate female family; I can say that those who feel anti abortion is against female rights is completely and entirely false. Choosing to have sex, especially since there are many ways in preventing conception, is a decision in which you can freely make. If you are pregnant you do however have a responsibility to child, and to those who can not conceive a baby. There are also a numerous of groups and adoption options that could help with this decision. However I do reserve the right and have the moral responsibility to provide a system that would help those who decide to keep the child.

A system of support and relief needs to be in place for those women who decided to overcome abortion thoughts and to carry through with their pregnancy. Helping them be able to afford expenses and doctor visits would be one of the biggest things I would fight for. Also to create a 5 step program that would help a young mother, especially one who is single, not to worry about doctor’s visits or education for their child by providing a 5 year program that would assist them to a much more secure age.

There is a part of me that is accepting of good reason, and reasons which I hope everyone would accept as an acceptable abortion. If a woman’s health is at risk then an abortion should be allowed and made available for those women, without protest. If a woman is raped the right to have an abortion would be granted and this would be only discussed between the officers and family involved, again without protest or public knowledge. We need to protect the living first and the above two scenarios would be a good enough reason to have an abortion.

Overall I feel that government should not be involved in the decision or the process of an individual who may or may not have an abortion. Also Roe vs. Wade has been ruled by the Supreme Court and we must remain separate to assure that the separations of powers are intact. Again I am a prolife American and I have actively protested abortion in DC, but I am very sympathetic toward this situation. When is comes to conception, I feel that is occurs immediately thus why a child should be respected from hour one.

Michael Steele for RNC Chair

"Let’s build a movement together…

Our party needs new leadership, not just new management. We can’t be satisfied with marginal improvements. We must become a movement that seeks nothing less than transformation. It will take new ideas, a commitment to reenergize our communications and a new structure that involves members and grassroots in a meaningful way. And it will take a fresh message.

But to those who suggest that means a shift away from the timeless truths upon which our party stands, I say nonsense.
We need to earn back the trust of the American people. We need to reclaim the future by adhering to our timeless principles. We need to pick ourselves up and once again become champions of optimism, innovation and empowerment.

As a former state chairman, county chairman and statewide elected official, it’s been my privilege to serve our Republican Party for nearly 30 years. Now, I want to help lead our Party as Chairman of the Republican National Committee." Michael Steele for RNC Chair Website

RNC Chairman?

With the GOP looking forward its now looks like there could be a big fight for Republican National Chairman spot. The candidates thus far are former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich, former Maryland Lieutenant Governor Michael Steele, Michigan Republican Chair Saul Anuzis, Chip Saltsman former campaign manager for Governor Mike Huckabee. Each candidate offers a lot to the party and should be considered for some post.

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich:

"In his post-Speaker role, Newt has become one of the most highly sought-after public speakers, accepting invitations to speak before some of the most prestigious organizations in the world. Because of his own unquenchable thirst for knowledge, Newt is able to share unique and unparalleled insights on a wide range of topics. His audiences find him to be not only an educational but also an inspirational speaker." Gingrich Website

Former Maryland Lieutenant Governor Michael Steele:

“Rebuilding the party after its most recent national defeat will not be easy. It requires commitment, dedication, tactical and strategic vision, the ability to craft and deliver winning messages and a sense of what the America voter wants from its government. Michael Steele has all these qualities, and in great supply.” Michael Steele Website

Chairman Saul Anuzis:

“Saul is a believer in the core principles of Republicanism. They are the reason he became a Republican. He certainly wasn't born into it. Saul grew up in a working class neighborhood in Detroit. He played in the streets with the kids of other autoworkers. He saw Ronald Reagan speak to those workers with a message that spoke to him as well. And he knows that, until we reach those voters again, Republicans will not win.” Saul Anuizs Website

“With Chip Saltsman, a man who truly believes in conservative principles, as our party's chairman, conservatives will have a renewed voice in our party and the establishment that's put us in this mess will finally be held accountable.” Chip Saltsman Website

I am happy to cast my vote to the Republican Committee and my support for Michael Steele for the position of Republican National Chairman. Looking forward I believe we need solid leadership and a committed individual that is capable of bring back the fundamentals to the party. That man is Michael Steele and I hope that all party members support and follow this excellent leadership.

Freedom of Choice

In recent news we are hearing that the Democrat Party will be having a full caucus vote on weather or not Senator Lieberman should keep his chairmanship over Homeland Security committee. The motionless Harry Ried and the evil witch doctor Speaker Pelosi are trying to humiliate and eliminate this man for his support for John McCain. Lieberman never attacked Obama and personally offered his congrats on him being elected. But like the LIBERAL wing of the Democrat Party they feel that they need to put Lieberman in his place and throw him off of this committee. By the way the Homeland Security position and bill was all put into play by Senator Joseph Lieberman. I am appalled that this is a desperate act to control the freedom of choice; I can’t even imagine what Adolf Reid and Hollywood Pelosi would do to you if you disagree with them.
Also to the people of Connecticut who already are gearing up to throw Senator Lieberman out, Ned Lamont is not better, besides look at his child molestation charges in which he freed over 216 offenders who 98% became repeat offenders. “I hate Ned Lamont because he's a beady-eyed, trust-fund-baby, Joe-smearing, Senate seat-buying, know-nothing selectman.” Unanimous Blogger It is sad that the democrat party has to result to these methods and the reason is because Obama will most likely govern from the middle and not the left. That my friend drives the pink o comie liberal nuts.

Thank You John McCain

Well now since everything has been said and done all that is left to do is to thank John McCain. Since the age of 17 McCain has served this country. He never gave up on the American Dream, and always put his country first. How many of us would survive being a POW for five years, or even a minute, not many of us. McCain has always served us, and because of him we were able to cast our votes either for or against him. It is funny that because of his service and the service of our men and women that we had the ability to vote and majority against McCain. Only in this country can we take an American Hero, a Patriot, and a public servant and make them into a nothing. John McCain was not just candidate for President for me, but rather a symbol of doing things for others rather then ourselves. A lot of my friends are becoming spoiled, and are rubbing it in people’s faces. They are acting as if the problems we face are bellow them. All of which I mind you probably voted for Obama. Thank you Senator McCain for everything, you taught us what its like to be humble and honest. The lessons that McCain has taught us will always out live the speeches in which Obama gives. Again I am happy that our country voted in such a united voice, but surprised how quickly they are now thanking McCain. I will never forget the man that stood against his party, made decisions in which were rite rather then political, and who served us since he was young and will continue as he “draws breath so help me God.” Thank You Senator McCain I am here because of you.

President Obama & Vice President Biden

Well the election is over, and the American People with one voice declared who they wanted for President. As I predicted before that Obama would be President, and McCain would not be, after a long election year my prediction was correct. Looking back at this process, which was long and expressive, a lot of memories along with experience that I am grateful for. The Republican Party may be down now, and it seems to be a big up hill battle there is a few scenarios that I believe could occur.

First Scenario: If Obama does not restore faith in government which has been lost since Nixon, then Obama will have a tough reelection. Since the start of YouTube, internet, and so many blogs it is hard to pull a quick one over the people. This is a problem for incumbents and a problem for any party and politician. Incumbents have to do something, and can not just fall back on promises without us the people knowing about it.

Second Scenario: The economy will be teetering for the remainder of this year, and seems to be a little scary down the road. Obama has promised a lot, and if he doesn’t not execute then I guarantee there will be members of my party that will gear up to beat him. I personally pray that this does not happen and that Obama is successful because I don’t believe our country can survive corruption and ongoing problems.

Both scenarios are a problem for Obama and what many republicans are looking for as Obama heads into the White House. But like I said before this is something that I don’t want to see. Looking towards 2012 seems to be to far away for me to even think about it. I offer my congrats to Obama and Biden and wish them success.

Two Roads

With election almost here and both camps remaining optimistic the American people remain undecided. New polls are saying the exact opposite of what they are feeling, and the question now being asked are the polls right? In 2004 John Kerry had a 5% lead over President Bush, but on Election Day the President defeated the Senator and retained the White House. The majority of the polls you see now have the race within 5%; my own tracking poll has it down to a 3% race which is big for John McCain. Also early voting is now not helping Obama but rather a problem for him. Early voting in Ohio and Florida has been very large for McCain. Now you may think well then on Election Day Obama will have his part turn out. NO! In those two states Democrats made up 59% of the early voters, Republicans 9%, and independents 32%. Even with a higher turnout of Democrats Obama seems not to be clicking to well. Two days from now we will know who had the better of the strategies and who will be the one raising their hand and taking an oath. I personally feel that this race is close, with a slight edge toward Obama. High turnout could put PA in the column of John McCain which would be a big victory for me. Don’t forget to Vote.

PA Ballot Questions

Ballot Questions 1-2: "Do you favor the incurring of indebtedness by the Commonwealth of $400,000,000 for grants and loans to municipalities and public utilities for the cost of all labor, materials, necessary operational machinery and equipment, lands, property, right and easements, plans and specifications, surveys, estimates of costs and revenues, prefeasibility studies, engineering and legal services and all other expenses necessary or incident to the acquisition, construction, improvement, expansion, extension, repair or rehabilitation of all or part of drinking water system, storm water, nonpoint source projects, nutrient credits and wastewater treatment system projects?"

Summar of the Question

  1. Allow the government of Pennsylvania to borrow $400,000,000 ($400 million) to make grants and loans to municipalities and public utilities for the acquisition, construction, improvement, expansion, extension, repair or rehabilitation of drinking water system, storm water and nonpoint source projects, nutrient credits and wastewater treatment system projects.

  2. The measure explicitly defines the terms in includes (for example, it defines "drinking water system" as something that "consists of reservoirs, wells, water treatment facilities and equipment such as pipes, tanks, filters and pumps, which collect, treat, store and supply safe drinking water for public use").

  3. Only $200,000,000 ($200 million) may be used in outright grant to municipalities. The remainder would have to be disbursed as loans to those who qualify for the funds.
The amount of a grant, loan, or combination of grant and loan awarded for a project may not exceed the monetary limits set by Act 64 of 2008, which vary based on the annual average daily flow of a sewage treatment system or the population served by a water system.

  4. The total cost of repayment will be an estimated $621 million, with an annual cost of $31 million after all the debt is issued ($11.2 million and $23.1 million in 2009-10 and 2010-11, respectively).

Pros and Cons

Supporters of the referendum argue:

  • $400 million is only a small portion of the almost $20 billion needed to ensure clean water and consumer safety.
  • This year the federal budget cut $42 million in state water and sewer funding as municipalities are facing expensive improvements due to new EPA regulations.
  • Those in favor of the bond believe making more funds available to municipalities will create jobs and stimulate the economy.

Critics of the referendum argue:

  • The question facing voters is less about whether Pennsylvania needs additional funding for water and sewer infrastructure, but whether the state needs additional revenue to pay for it.
  • Pennsylvanians already owe $110 billion in state debt, not including the additional $3 billion passed in the 2008-09 state budget.
  • Opponents are skeptical of taking on new debt in the current economic climate given the legislature's history of spending
(Above Information was copied by the PA State Election Website, http://www.electionreturns.state.pa.us/ElectionsInformation.aspx?FunctionID=16&ElectionID=28&QuestionID=15

For me I do not think that the tax payers of this district of any district should have to pay for this project. In 1996 the state voted to approve the amount of 64 million for the clean water and sewer act which ended up costing jobs and not being effective at all. I would have to vote NO on these questions due to the fact thier seems to be no mention of longterm achievement. For example there is no mention about the job created what will happen once the job is completed. I will have to disagree with the Mayor and vote NO. If this proposal had an econimic recovery program part of it then I would vote for it hands down but since the price ceiling seems not to be attached to it at all. But look at the information above and make the decission your self and at least the bill proposal doesn't have an earmark attached to it.

Tom Manion for Congress

"Tom Manion comes to the race for Congress not as a career politician, but as a regular citizen called to public service in extraordinary times. Tom grew up in the Philadelphia area and is one of ten children. His father was a salesman and his mother raised the family. Together, they worked very hard to provide. And they, like any parents, wanted the best for Tom and his brothers and sisters."

"In Washington, Tom Manion will push to make sure Congress once again works for us… so Congress once again does what’s right. He will focus on the things that should be obvious, but have been forgotten by the politicians."

Tom Manion is the kind of guy that I want to represent me in Congress. Help Manion beat Bug Bunny I mean Murphy in November. Tom Manion lost his son in Iraq but still feels that the mission still needs to be done. Murphy once an Iraq vet has been considered one of the worst congressmen in our country. Let's throw out the trash in washington and election Tom Manion for Congress.

Why I am voting for McCain

I am voting for McCain not because I am a Republican but because I believe in the American Dream. There are a lot of fundamental differences between Obama and McCain and I don’t have the time, nor would you read all of what I have to say to list them all. For McCain, he locked up my vote when he picked Sarah Palin as his Vice Presidential Nominee. Obama could have earned my vote if he picked someone else except for Biden. Don’t get me wrong the VP position didn’t make my decision nor was I looking for it to do so. Picking a VP is like a table setter, and gets the people going. Palin is a lot better for me, a person concern with our safety and future, instead of Biden. Obama also has certain arrogance about him that I can’t follow, and I feel has lost a lot of respect for. When Obama says that he is visiting an ill grandmother, how is it he then took a half hour off and had a dance off with Ellen on her hit show. I mean don’t get me wrong, he should take bad news with a stride but why? Why would you dance off on the show if you just said that “I am canceling everything to set my mind and prayers with my grandmother.” Hmmm! The plot thickens, but again not a reason why I am not voting for Obama. When asked why I am this is what I say. I believe in smaller government, privacy, and values in which democrats disagree 100% of the time with. Instead of expanding our government to work for the people, I only remind you if it’s small now and its not working for you, it getting bigger wont help you either. I am not a rich guy, and have financial problems in every area but this spreading of the wealth idea doesn’t seem that it will work. 95% of the American people are expecting money under an Obama plan, how is it that 5% of America can actually give us what we need. Another thing is that the 5% also includes the siblings, and partners in which don’t have the money at their disposal, but are expected to pay. If we do take away a lot what happens to them, or rather when we dry them out who will pay us then. It would end up being a trickled down event that will run dry when it hit bottom. Also I am scared if Obama does becomes the leader of our military. He would sit down with terrorist that want to kill us and some that already have. Obama needs to understand that terrorist hate all American including him, so this superstar theory will not hold up again Bin Laden. I could go on, but I feel you get me thoughts. McCain smaller government, maverick, and complete leadership, Obama larger government, motivational speaker, and not that bad of a guy. I am not against Obama I am just for McCain.

One Week Left

With the election just a week away McCain is trying to ride the underdog theory into the White House. John McCain was down by larger numbers when he pulled out with the victory in New Hampshire which gives many of McCain supporters a sign of hope. With all the different polls pointing into different directions it is hard to determine who is actually going to win this thing. I have studied many polls and looked at the sampling error and still can’t really put my finger on it. Early tonight I participated in a poll, and many people say that if the economy wasn’t the way it was then McCain would be their man. Hard to overcome the shadows of Bush and the economy, but McCain feels that he will. What will an Obama presidency look like, and will it actually be what we need? For many of us, we need action now. Time is running out and trust is flying out the widow in government. With one week to go the election seems to be tilting more towards Obama then McCain but we have seen these numbers wrong before. Hope all of you vote next week, and for those who voted already thank you. No matter what the polls say vote proudly for whoever you feel deserves the job, and remember that we are the ones who determine what history will say about this election.

Can McCain Win?

With the election two weeks away, many people are saying this election is still too close to call. Many Obama supporters are already clamming victory, and that McCain is already sounding the defeat call. However Obama has learned a lesson before about getting hopes up before all the votes are counted. Today many polls put the Electoral College back into play, saying that Obama surge in the economy has slowed down. In Ohio and Florida McCain has regained the lead in these must wins areas. Also Virginia and North Carolina signs of hope of McCain winning have return. With Nevada, Missouri, and a possible win in Colorado McCain could win this election. Recent polls have put FL, OH, NC, NV, and MO back into the column of McCain, temporarily, and have put CO and VA as a tossup. For Republican this is a sign of hope, for Obama this is a sign of repeating history. We saw in the 2000 Presidential Election that many states that were leaning a certain way ended up not going that way. Polls have been wrong before, and many believe that the popular vote in the end will be fairly close. Obama doesn’t have to sweet yet, since McCain seems to really want to carry PA. But if McCain wins OH, FL, and PA then victory is almost guarantee. This election is not yet over, and I am still hesitant in the winner. The one thing I can tell you is this, that is the economy didn’t decline, McCain would have won this election. McCain has done a great job overcoming the Bush odds, but even a maverick can’t overcome the GOP economic problems.

Sarah Palin continues to Shine

Last night on Saturday Night Live, Sarah Palin made a guest appearance with great enthusiasm. After seeing the Flyers lose again, I decided to watch some of the SNL skits that everyone seems to love. I forgot that Sarah Palin was going to be on the show, and I am sure happy she was. Sarah Palin seems to be the reason why McCain is still alive in this campaign. Many people who saw the show last night commented how funny and energetic she is. This helps out the campaign entirely when you have Biden basically pushing flowers and surly she helps McCain more then Biden helps Obama. She continues to remind me why I am a fan of hers, and am hoping for a miracle this election so we can call her Vice President. However for Sarah Palin it could be a win win election this November. If she loses and fails to become VP she could possible run again in 4 years for President to take on Obama. It would be interesting to see what happens, and with all the attacks on her now, she would be ready for the attacks in the future. Overall Sarah Palin just seems to be the pride of our party and definitely a future player in this country.

"Tom Corbett is the current Attorney General of Pennsylvania and is running for re-election in 2008. Four Major Accomplishments of Tom Corbett

Tom Ellis for State Treasurer

"What is the definition of a public servant . . . one who puts the needs of the citizens above his or her own. In a time when people feel that our elected officials have lost sight of what’s best for the citizens, it’s good to know that Tom Ellis has been a watchdog for all of us. Tom has brought innovative thinking to fiscal responsibility in Montgomery County’s government." (Tom Ellis Website)

During his time as an elected official Tom has:
Taken No Salary Or A Half Salary – With legislative pay raises dominating the headlines, Tom Ellis chose to work for no salary or half of his salary. For the first 2 ½ years, Tom took no salary and then opted to take only 50% when he became Chairman of the Board of Commissioners.
  • Worked To Purchase A Large County Office Building – When Tom found out that the yearly rent of a large county-leased office building would be rising from $2.46 million to $2.8 million in 2007, he knew something needed to be done. Thanks to Tom’s efforts, this building was bought by Montgomery County; a decision which saved taxpayers $45,800 in 2007, and will increase to $518,000 by 2011.
  • Issued A Moratorium On Out-Of-State Travel – Expressing a concern about travel to “lavish resorts,” such as Las Vegas and San Francisco, Tom and the Board developed a written policy restricting travel which ultimately cut back on the number of conferee attendees. During its first year, this policy saved over $250,000 in taxpayer money
  • *Again all information is from Tom Ellis Campaign Website

Tom Ellis has been a perfect servant of this state for many years. With the economy where it is we need someone with experience to lead us into a postive future, rather then taking to many stpes back. For 22 years Tom Ellis has experinced up and down markets flows, the housing market, and is the only candidate with that many of years of public finance experience. This is an election that we need to have some experience people elected.

Chet Beiler for Auditor General of PA

    chetbeiler.com

"The Office of the Auditor General was created to serve as the state’s top fiscal watchdog.
Chet promises to be a watchdog, not a lapdog!
When government agencies are not run efficiently it impacts everyone in the form of higher taxes. With the rising costs of healthcare, gas, food and prescription drugs, we must not waste taxes.

The Office of the Auditor General:
    • Ensures your tax dollars are used wisely
    • Certifies state agencies receive the appropriate allocated funding
    • Affirms state agencies use funds correctly and operate efficiently

As a truly independent fiscal watchdog, Chet will work to save taxpayer money so you don’t have to work harder only to pay more taxes. Chet will work to cut government waste and inefficiency so your tax burden can be decreased." (Chet Beiler Website)

I am personaly excited to endore this man for auditor gerneral for the commonwealth of PA. He was in our area just a few days ago and spoke clearly what he would due to those responsible for the economic problems are state is facing. He has always worked for the people of this state and will continue as our next auditor general.

    Electoral College

Since the birth of democracy in America the Electoral College has represented the “equal” distribution of representation and weight of votes for a Presidential candidate. This process originally was supposed to make the election fair and balance, basically saying that a candidate has to campaign over a majority of states not just a few. Now we see the Electoral College doing the exact opposite from fair, balance to combinations and scenarios. For example to be President of the United States all you need are 270 electoral vote’s, points have you and there you go. Sadly this once flawless system is now going to be used as a launching pad for corruption and political gain. Can’t say that I am too upset over it since the 2004 strategy and actually the entire republican strategy was built on a victory in the Electoral College without the popular vote. A democracy by definition is a government chosen by the people and for the people by a simple majority. Not a majority of points but rather a majority of votes casted. Now a year ago when the protest hit DC to eliminate the Electoral College I was rite there saying that we need the Electoral College and how it is fair. On my radio show I debated two of my colleagues about how profitable the Electoral College was and its successes. But like many things in life as you grow and learn you see that truly unfair, unbalance, and corrupt this process is. Maybe it’s because of the upcoming defeat that I have finally noticed. Since 2000 I started doing electoral math in my head and it always seemed to favor the republicans but now with it favoring the democrats I finally settled in the shoes of the loser. So if anyone favors the electoral college or you feel that representation is fairly distributed through this system then look at every presidential election and see how the majority did not get the President they voted for, one time is enough for me. By the way Electoral College and representation includes census which do not included poor, immigration, or handicap people, fair I think not.

    Game Over

It is with a sad heart but a very hopeful one that I must admit to defeat in 2008. Unfortunately Americans will most likely vote for Obama and this is a lost not just felt by McCain/Palin but for me also. I will continue to pump my support for McCain and for his cause but after tonight, plus personal reflection I believe, that America will choose “the road less traveled by” and elect Obama the next President of the United States. I would believe that some would consider my opinion professional, and experienced supporting facts of my education, travels, and experience that I apply to my opinion. And it is with that opinion that I can conclude the notion that McCain and Palin would lose in November. Timing is everything, and as a roller coaster goes, as goes the country. The economy tanked and Americans ran to Obama rather they ran to the Democratic Party. I don’t blame those people and wish them the most success. For about a week I have studied over many polls and public opinion websites and it seems that the odds are just staggering for McCain but it will soon be over and the consequences of this election will soon be felt. Prayers and constant dedication will remain high and full of hope in the last week of this campaign, and a victory for McCain in November. I will continue to leave posts to maintain the good people who read this blog but also for myself to express what I feel is important, and offer my opinion. It is funny that less then two weeks ago victory was in our grasps and celebration was at hand now not so much. “Once you consent to some concession, you can never cancel it and put things back the way they are.” Howard Hughes

    Hail Mary Pass

Earlier this week McCain has stopped his campaign, canceled all previous engagements, and halted all TV ads. Why you ask? To return to Washington to be part of the solution to the bailout for the economy and to stop Obama’s surge. This is truly a Hail Mary pass for the Senator to throw, especially since we see polls returning in the favor of Obama. Recent economic news puts Obama back in the lead with a small margin but none the less stops McCain surge in the country. With the economy teetering on indecision and chaos, Americans due what they due best and start jumping the gun. “Our economy is in danger.” President Bush summed up what is going on, and is urging for Congress to start responding before the economy collapses. But with this current strategy by McCain and Obama there are two political stories that can occur and only one in which will work. McCain hopes that his return to Washington sparks leadership, and that he is ready to tackle all of the problems that will face a President. Obama hopes that no deal is made, and if it is made that it fails, because last time the economy crashed FDR won a landslide election. This is nothing new, and surly doesn’t catch anyone off guard. Obama supporters and McCain supporters are all praying for a win for their respected candidate, but what about those suffering with the economy and need answers. Christmas is around the corner, and the Holliday season is coming fast, so for many people answers are needed now rather then in January when the next President takes office. Gallup polling has given the edge back to McCain by stating the race is now tie, and that the majority of Americans are happy to see McCain trying to solve the problem now rather then later. Obama at a rally today was booed when he said he would return to the senate to vote but not any time earlier. A woman with an Obama shirt was disgusted and left the stage. But it is still too early to tell who will gain from our misfortunes in the economy. I personally favor the McCain strategy fixes it now, rather then late but there is another negative. If McCain fails, and this risk ends up being fatal, then McCain will most likely get crushed in November. Either way I will be watching tomorrows debate and I hope so do you.

    Remembering September 11, 2001

For every American I can bet that you remember where you were and what you were doing on this day seven years ago. For me it would be an event and a time that I will never forget, nor will ever let anyone forget. On this day I always like to have a conversation with people about where they were or what they were doing. There are hundred of stories that all have the same result. That result was the feeling when looking up at the TV or being their yourself, when you saw two giant towers brought down, the Pentagon hit, and a plane crash in PA. I will tell you my story and I hope that you tell people your story too, because this is a day in which history and all those who lived it will never let go. It was a typical sunny Tuesday morning, and the start of the first full week of school my sophomore year of High School. It was second period, and my friend Mike and I had lunch that period, which we would walk around right before the bell would ring for third period. When we then saw a teacher running down the hall upset, and soon saw people watching the TV. It was then I saw what was first called and accident for myself. A plane had hit one of the Twin Towers. Then right before ours eyes, live on television, we saw the second plane hit the towers. Shock, tingly feeling ran through my body, and complete puzzlement. When reports came in saying that the Pentagon was hit it was soon after that we saw Accident turned to Attack. Our principal Sam Karlin announced that everyone was to, “stay where you are, by orders from the White House, the United States is under attack.” That is a quote that I will never forget, and gives me tears in my eyes thinking about it, and goose pumps up and down my arm. We were all human that day, no one was better, no one was safe, and the entire country was equal. Every plan in the sky and every sound everyone heard everyone would look and wonder if that was another attack. I remember standing in my 3rd period Spanish class, and just watching. Time had stood still, and the world seemed to have just stopped. Hearing of the stories of heroism helps us get through times like this, and reminds us that the greater good will always prevail over the evilest of situations. “What ever you believe in, or pray to, please do, planes are falling from the heavens, heroes are changing to angels, and everyone is dialing 911.” I will always say an extra prayer on this day for all those people who bravely gave their lives for us, and it is a day that never slips my mind. So while you read this blog or think about this day remember where you were and the feelings you had, because that my friends is a feeling and memory that will never die. 9-11 Always Remembered but not repeated, Thank You Mr. Bush.

    Anchors away on MSNBC

Probably the worst team in political history to ever call or talk about politics were recently broken up on the not so popular MSNBC network. Of course I am talking about Chris Matthews and Keith Olbermann that were finally moved from their anchor positions and put on the back burner of the network. Both men have be criticized as being bias, and unfair while treating certain candidates, especially dealing with degrading remarks towards women and republicans. I have to say after reading, “Life as a campaign” by Matthews I have been surprised with the way that Matthews has gone after Governor Palin and cried during an Obama speech earlier in the 08 season. Many liberal bloggers have already attacked MSNBC for removing such talent, that I believe can be replaced by children, and have started a petition to get them to return these men back on to the air. I applaud MSNBC for their efforts for trying to equalize or report fair news, I won’t be watching anytime soon but still applaud their efforts. I feel that this should have been done earlier and felt that the network was trying to avoid this move but it was definitely unavoidable. In a recent poll Americans find Fox News to be the fairest network available and CNN close behind. MSNBC is far behind the fair line but has made some moves that may get them into some fair territory. As for Matthews and Olbermann I hope to never see you on the air again, and do enjoy your early retirement, hope to never run into you.

"A Cause Greater Then Our Own Self Interest"

Just a few days ago Senator McCain took center stage at his Republican Convention. With more viewers watching then Senator Obama, McCain had to deliver what was called the most important speech in his life. In recent polls and from the people I talk to you McCain seemed to just about accomplish it. Some believe that there was not much energy and it lacked emotion, that he didn’t seem comfortable. Others felt that his speech was the start of a whole new campaign and motivated the donor base to contribute two hundred million dollars. If you don’t know me by now, I support my decisions and thoughts with proof. It today’s Gallup Poll McCain has a 3% lead over Obama, even Obama’s network CNN reports McCain has taken the lead in this presidential election. With more polls pouring in around the nation it seems that McCain has done the job and done it correctly. In fact this new message or campaign theme is to do or join a cause greater then our own self interest. This theme seems to be growing in our country and many are joining team of McCain. I had a discussion with a friend the other night that I am not sure where he got his information, but stated that Obama was leading in New Orleans. A poll today, today I mind, stated that McCain is leading in that area about 78%. So I don’t know where he got his information, probably CNN or someone he overheard but none the less WRONG. My friends and I discussed McCain and his speech, and surprisingly enough majority are probably not voting for McCain or Obama, but rather not voting at all. When talking to a friend from college he was surprised those friends of mine have not care or knowledge in what’s going on or if they do remain silent. But we are a group that a just roll with it and that seems to be successful for us so far but we shall see how far for me. I was just reading a blog how someone actually stoped being friends with his classmates because lack of emotion in this election, I will not go that far but I am also not that far behind. Back to McCain well simply enough proved to energize his base and campaign. Look at the polls and that will tell you what you need to see. McCain doesn’t speak well with a prepared statement, but speaks better when he is walking around talking to us. So I will not hold that against him but rather applaud it. October 26th is going to be the first Presidential Debate and I am looking forward to it.

The Honorable Governor of Alaska Sarah Palin

Save the best for last is what I decided to do and to dedicate a whole post on this great woman instead of bunching her in with a daily report. Words can not explain my opinion and affection I have for this woman, a gale that came from small town in Alaska, who never fathom being President or Vice President. She has always fought for the people, and never asked for any reward just trust in government, trust in the future, a trust in her. Governor Palin is more than toss meat for the left to attack, and for liberals to lift their ugly nose towards. She is a patriot who went to school the hard way, and always took the jobs that many people wouldn’t even want to. She made decisions that many politicians would simply avoid and run away from because of fear of political fallout. A Lead by example philosophy, a hockey mom attitude, has gotten Sarah Palin to where she is today. A successful parent, loving wife, and a true public servant are some of the most proud accomplishments that we have learned of that Sarah Palin accomplished. “I’m not a member of the permanent political establishment. And I’ve learned quickly, these last few days, that if you’re not a member in good standing of the Washington elite, then some in the media consider a candidate unqualified for that reason alone.” In recent days Sarah Palin has been treated horribly by the media, and simply enough because they don’t know her. When a reporter was asked, “Why you attacking her?” the reporter said in response, “She’s not one of us.” That is a profound statement that the reporter stated, “Not one of us” sadly many Americans are buying this crap, and are not looking at the big picture. Why would this reporter then cling to Obama who keeps telling us that he is an outsider to Washington, when he has lived there for the last three years. I was talking to an old grade school friend who is going to cast her vote for Obama on November the 4th, and she said, “It saddens me that women are never going to be in the White House.” And I have heard that a lot, to all the woman in the world I have this to say. If you want a woman in the white house, and are waiting for that perfect woman to come around to be that person, you will never see her or more importantly you will never get to vote for her. Generations of women are waiting for this barrier to break. My sister gets it and is going to cast her vote for McCain, because, “It’s time for me to realize that I can do and be what ever you want to do and be.” See it only takes one victory to turn into many, and open the doors for good. This would be our third shot at electing a woman to an area in which they have yet to be. Sarah Palin is not the perfect candidate, but she is trying to do something that is only talked about. “Here’s how I look at the choice Americans face in this election: In politics, there are some candidates who use change to promote their careers, and then there are those, like John McCain, who use their careers to promote change.” The decision is ours, and it’s not an easy one. For many people they are truly divided and I am sorry for that, but that is the burden of freedom and elections. There are winners and losers. Again I can not express my strong support for and honor that I feel for Sarah Palin. I only can pray and wish that many of you can see and hear what I do, and if you do then you will feel and see it soon. Sarah Palin is someone I would be honored to salute, stand up for when she enters a room, and honored to call her Vice President of the United States.

Day Three of the Republican Convention

Tonight the Republicans decided to throw everything they had into the mix, and give it all they got. To answer this task the McCain campaign and the RNC put together a line up of speakers that could deliver that message. The speakers would be all former Presidential Candidates, and all would be favorites in 2012 when the next round of primaries would kick off. The first speaker was none other then former governor Mitt Romney of Massachusetts. Romney is mostly remembered as going negative the most in the primaries, and how his negative adds where extremely successful. Romney began with hard jabs to the other side of the spectrum, and was relentless when comparing McCain to Obama when dealing with evil. “And at Saddleback, after Barack Obama dodged and ducked every direct question, John McCain hit the nail on the head: Radical, violent Islam is evil, and he will defeat it.”Romney stern warning to American was received with great applause and received strong recognition from his fellow Republicans. Romney also ended his speech with a glance towards the future by giving a strong statement, “President McCain and Vice President Palin will keep America as it has always been: The hope of the Earth.” Next to speak was the last Republican to exit the race, second place finish presidential campaign, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee. Mike Huckabee like Romney wasted little to no time going right after Obama and defending Sarah Palin. "John McCain offers specific ideas to respond to this need for change," this is point that seems every speaker is trying to identify, that McCain is the true agent for change. Huckabee speech was strong, and he admitted that McCain wasn’t his first choice, but he is the only choice now to make for President. After Huckabee speech it was time for the keynote speech which was fantastically done by Rudy Giuliani. Giuliani brought humor and enthusiasm to the convention floor, and it only reminded me how close he came from becoming the nominee of this party. “We are the party that believes ... in America's essential greatness” Giuliani explained to a stadium filled that its time for us to move forward. “You're hiring someone to do a job” this is when Giuliani explained the importance of this election, and tried to tell people that we are in charge and we get to pick the next President. “And now the job is up to us. Let's get John McCain and Sarah Palin elected, and let's shake up Washington and move this country forward” This is how Giuliani ended his speech with great applause and standing ovation at the convention. All three main speakers did their job effectively and successful but it was now time for the main event, Sarah Palin.

    Republican Convention Kickoff!

Well early yesterday Republicans officially kicked of their party's convention with a call of service, and duty to those conflicted by the recent Hurricane that sweep through the south. Day 1 started as normal with Republican National Chairman Duncan using the gavel to bring the convention together. He was followed by both first lady Laura Bush and Cindy McCain. Both gave information out pertaining the hurricane and asked for people to donate and help out. Also during the first night the governors of those conflicted states taped a video message to the convention asking for help. But as the storm settled and the streets became clear in St.Paul, MN the Republicans picked up the convention and kicked it off. The second night of speakers where a list of many favorites from both past conventions, Democrat conventions, and favorite actor. Prime time had Laura Bush who introduced her husband President Bush. President Bush was there by satellite because of the hurricane but he still delivered a stern and continue line of support for McCain. Then came what we all were waiting for, the wait was over and the next speaker got everyone into the atmosphere. Former Senator from TN and Law and Order Actor Fred Thompson spoke next. He delivered which was probably the most entertaining and energetic speech thus far. He started with praising McCain and how he has already been tested, to immediately attacking the liberal Obama. "The Democrats present a history-making nominee for president, history-making in that he is the most liberal, most inexperienced nominee to ever run for president." This line probably was the most remembered line from Thompson speech that drew a great ovation. Thompson took of the gloves and was getting the Republicans ready for a fight. Then it was time for Lieberman, former VP nominee to Gore, an Independent leader in the Senate. Lieberman had stated before his speech that he wouldn't attack Obama and that he would only explain why he is for McCain. "Eloquence is no substitute for a record." Was the line that Lieberman stirred the pot and got allot of peoples attention. Lieberman also hoped to connect with Independents through the camera by looking straight into it and saying, "Country matters more than party." Lieberman didn't follow the advice from the Democrats and went after Obama and defended VP Nominee Palin. Overall the conventions seemed to gain its momentum back, and tomorrow night we hear from Governor Palin herself and other high profiled candidates.

    A Maverick filled Ticket!

This past Friday, August 29th 2008, the country was introduced to the next Vice President of the United States, Governor Sarah Palin of Alaska. Originally I had thrown my support behind the nomination of Mitt Romney as the VP pick but just seeing her speak and listening to the reaction she has brought to the campaign has re-opened my opinion and has gotten me excited for this great ticket. This was a shock to the political world and also to everyone who was sure that McCain would choose the candidate that he needs to. Instead McCain picked the candidate that he wanted, and decided to take a risk by choosing a Washington outsider to answer the call and duty of Vice President. I don’t know if it was the music playing when they introduced her or just the fact that history was made through this historic event. Both candidates have fought the system and won, also having a great record of challenging Washington and always serving the peoples needs rather then their own self interest. But now comes the real challenge of Vice Presidential Candidate and how she will hold up for the next 59 days until the election. So far she has doubled McCain’s fundraising, and has received a higher favorability rating then that of her opponent Democrat VP Biden. She even has improved McCain’s longevity programs and trust in the McCain campaign which I thought would be almost impossible. But with the good comes the bad, and when it rains it pours. Early this morning Governor Palin announced that her 17 daughter is pregnant, and how she plans to stand by her daughter and will not allow the media to rip her apart. Some would view this as a negative but let’s face it, we are electing a President and Vice President of the United States not their family and sure enough we will not hold their parenting skills up for debate. Parenting skills are not even on my score card when picking a candidate and if it is on yours then you are lower then dirt in this country. So give the McCain/Palin ticket two thumbs up and feel that now this election is truly a toss up.
This is the link to McCain introducing his running mate!

Dems are off the stage I wonder how they did?

Well honestly I can really tell you how they did, especially since every major news station is covering McCain's VP pick. Obama delivered a great speech that attracted all of people, but we knew he would do that. But what Obama did do is fire me up, and actually motivate me to now beat him. I am personally finish with arrogance and the complete blindness of Obama to everything. I honestly feel that this man couldn't run a government even with all the help in the world. I never mixed friendship with politics, due to the fact that the majority of times it would result into a problem or a fight. But I remember this funny t-shirt I got from a friend that stated what you see to the left. And I am going to live by it. People say they do there research on the candidates, but what does that really mean. If you are a person that just like to research a few topics then you fail, and yes that is a true statement. You fail the system, and you fail every child and future American who you simply didn't think of when you voted. Come on you probably just voted for your single issue and that has nothing to due with the greater good, and then comes the real question... do you really care who wins? Obama banks on those loser's who just listen to him on TV and go wow that was a great speech. McCain uses a different tactic which is like hey i fought a war for you vote for me. Both campaigns are trying to place YOU the last minute king/queen on the spot light. So what are you going to do? Simply sit back and act like it has nothing to do with you or get involved. Like the picture says on Nov 4th I might just have to really live by it. With the stage cleared and the Dem's back on the trail we shall see on Monday what kind of bump Obama got. And how McCain running mate will do for the first weekend of campaigning.

    Day 1: Democratic National Convention

Today was the first day of the Democratic National Convention in Denver, and honestly from watching the replay it was boring but accomplishing. Usually day one is built for you to take care of any primary or problems that you ran into before the convention. Basically the convention servers as a doctor’s visit and for you to get healthy again to face off in November, and usually does the job for both parties. So here is how the first day rapped up. (I will be only commenting on what was shown on TV due to the fact that’s all we really actually seen) First up was that Wooing DNC Chairman from Vermont Howard Dean that got a few woos from the crowd. If anyone of you forgot what the woo is about look it up on YouTube and I am sure you will find it. Howard Dean welcomed everyone and reassured the people that it would be an enjoyable night. At this time everyone remembered why Howard Dean lost his bid for the presidency and quickly moved on. After a lot of people I don’t even nor care to mention spoke it was time for the heavy hitters of day one. Time for the speaker of the house to well I guess speak. Nancy Pelosi delivered a theme speech called, “Renewing Americas Promise.” She of course drew a loud applause when she was introduced but quickly began to lose the crowd simply because she doesn’t even know what she is saying. I want everyone know who knows me to remember every time I speak and when I get caught up in words, remember, and remember when I keep trying to talk and all you here is well nothing. Well that happen to the lovely California Congresswoman, and it wasn’t done with grace. Now it was time to actually praise a true public servant, it was time for President Carter to speak. Now I don’t agree with anything President Carter did as President, but as a humanitarian I have nothing but respect for that man. President Carter actually got a good applause from the crowd and his video from New Orleans was well done. I really can’t say anything about him, he himself always knew he would be better of not in the white house. It was now time for Kennedy to shine, and take his bow at the convention, and he was sadly electric to the crowd. When he appeared the convention broke out in its loudest uproar and uncontrollable fit for the senior Senator from Mass. Ted Kennedy. Kennedy was diagnosed early this year with cancer and if battling with it in the Senate. After his speech and dedication we moved onto the main event Michelle Obama speech. Now this is where a lot of fixing had to be done, and she accomplished it well. Mrs. Obama reinforced that she has always been proud of her country, and restated that Obama is looking to listen to our hopes rather then our fears. She overall did a great job and I really can’t say anything against her. Then again with no real message and nothing really to sell to us, it was really just like a pageant. We shall see how day two turns out and yes Hillary Clinton will speak!
