Abortion seems to be a topic in which many of us feel uncomfortable to talk about, and politicians try to avoid making a solid position. I am solidly a pro life advocate and feel that an abortion during any month is and should be avoided. Now I don’t know what it’s like to be a woman and the decision in which are usually brought on by this situation but I feel if you made the decision to have sex then you accept the actions for its pleasure and its costs. Having two sisters, and a dominate female family; I can say that those who feel anti abortion is against female rights is completely and entirely false. Choosing to have sex, especially since there are many ways in preventing conception, is a decision in which you can freely make. If you are pregnant you do however have a responsibility to child, and to those who can not conceive a baby. There are also a numerous of groups and adoption options that could help with this decision. However I do reserve the right and have the moral responsibility to provide a system that would help those who decide to keep the child.
A system of support and relief needs to be in place for those women who decided to overcome abortion thoughts and to carry through with their pregnancy. Helping them be able to afford expenses and doctor visits would be one of the biggest things I would fight for. Also to create a 5 step program that would help a young mother, especially one who is single, not to worry about doctor’s visits or education for their child by providing a 5 year program that would assist them to a much more secure age.
There is a part of me that is accepting of good reason, and reasons which I hope everyone would accept as an acceptable abortion. If a woman’s health is at risk then an abortion should be allowed and made available for those women, without protest. If a woman is raped the right to have an abortion would be granted and this would be only discussed between the officers and family involved, again without protest or public knowledge. We need to protect the living first and the above two scenarios would be a good enough reason to have an abortion.
Overall I feel that government should not be involved in the decision or the process of an individual who may or may not have an abortion. Also Roe vs. Wade has been ruled by the Supreme Court and we must remain separate to assure that the separations of powers are intact. Again I am a prolife American and I have actively protested abortion in DC, but I am very sympathetic toward this situation. When is comes to conception, I feel that is occurs immediately thus why a child should be respected from hour one.
