This evening I would like to cover a local race that has been kicked off recently for the open seat in the Pennsylvania Legislature, which is the District 170 Representative. This seat is currently held by George Kenney(R) who announced his retirement early this year. Due to his retirement democrats have been eyeing up with this district for a possible push for their cause come the fall. The democrats have nominated Boyle, who was once before nominated but lost to Kenney is the 06 cycle of elections. But now since no more Kenney the democrats believe they will sure enough win this district. As a member of this district this concerns me greatly and I feel that this could start a new trend that simply would ruin us. The republican nominee is Matt Taubenberger, whose father recently lost his bid for Mayor of Philadelphia, is a former aid and advisor to Kenney. He is also a hand pick successor to this long term public servant that of George Kenney. Taubenberger has made the violence in our city, and increase police that main points of his campaign. He also outlines his plan in great detail, and offers how we law biding citizens how to help. Boyle offers just six small lines to dealing with violence. Boyle seems not to take a strong stance against violence, especially at a time we need it most. During these times of economic problems and serious housing issues we need someone who is experience with all of this and who has a lot of experience in Harrisburg to deal with it. Matt is our guy to battle all the problems that we face, and will stand with all of us so we can battle these problems together. I am proud that I am voting for Matt Taubenberger and I hope many of you who live in this great district are too.
