The next VP will be...

When thinking about the vice president position, many feel the position is a stepping stone, or rather a whipping dog to the president. The decision of picking a VP seems for many, easy and simply you pick someone who is going to help you win in area you wouldn’t win alone. The VP is just extra security for the nominee and not that important in governing the country, sad but honest. But for McCain the decision picking a VP is probably the most important decision he is going to make, and one that will either throw him forward into the white house, or get him a bad seat on January 20th at Obamas inauguration. For McCain he has age and term limited problems that many first term presidents don't run into, which prompts his decision to pick a good VP even more important. So to answer the question who would best help McCain in the fall is none other then Mitt Romney. Yes, the former opponent to John McCain and probably the chief conservative strategist that wanted everyone else to be the nominee except McCain, Romney is the only candidate for the job that seems worth looking at. Many people would shake their heads and say there is no way that this man could ever be the VP, but I will give my facts to support this decision. Mitt Romney is a former governor who has a great resume to be President, but felt short when it came down to Super Tuesday in February 08. On this impeccable resume you would read that he was a very successful governor who had passed and signed many laws into affect that has keep his state remain safe, that state being Massachusetts, and how he has such a great knowledge of foreign affairs and the war on terror. However the most important part of Romney’s resume is that he has the most experience when dealing with the economy, more then McCain, Obama, and any democratic VP hopeful. With the economy where it is, and everyone saying we need someone who knows how to fix it and solve our problems we been having in our pockets we need someone to fix it. Well then Romney looks more important now doesn’t he, and in fact when looking at states and job growth, Massachusetts again dominates because of Romney working program. If you are a graduating student from now, and until forever, you would want Romney to take charge of the economy. Again you might be saying well the VP isn’t important, why not put Romney as secretary of the treasury? Simply because Romney has an ego, and wants to be president and he knows that if he is the VP then being the republican nominee in 2012 is unstoppable. History proves that those who seek the nomination after serving as VP are highly successful, but sadly them winning is not. But Romney has enough time to prove that history wrong, and with the economy on everyone’s mind, and if McCain wins that issue, then on January 2oth 2oo9 John McCain will be President.

Is John McCain the Man in the Arena?

This is a question that many of us, especially those conservative republicans, tend to ask themselves more now then ever. Senator McCain is the Republican Nominee for President, and has made a very impressive video that describes himself in the same view of historical legends as Winston Churchill & Theodore Roosevelt. But probably the most impressive thing that comes from this web ad is the fact that “the man in the arena,” quote and name of the ad connects with not just John McCain on the issues, but also connects with McCain chances of winning in November. History remembers such a quote from Theodore Roosevelt, and his chances winning after the McKinley assignation, and how of his odds and campaign style was nothing like the republican base then. Just like McCain and how he is not your typical republican, a maverick, a visionary, and probably the one who will setup the party for success in the future but none the less not your typical republican. McCain however is appealing to the American People, not just the typical ranks of the Republican Party, or to the high rollers, he simply attracts a new type of republican. “In the long run, he serves his party best who most helps to make it instantly responsive to ever need of the people, and to the highest demands of that spirit which tends to drive us onward and upward.” Again when looking at this quote from TR we see McCain through these words. Let’s face it, McCain has never been a party favorite, and in 2000 when he challenged a republican family name like Bush it was almost political suicide, but here he is, the nominee of our party. Are we so angry with this that we would give a Obama the reigns of the white house, and lets see what he can do for four years. I also would like to call on the fact that if Bush won a second term, and many of you republicans are sitting this election out with the hope that Obama wins so you can beat him in four years, that might not happen, and in fact I doubt it will, reminds me of the Bush scenario for a second term. Giving Obama the presidency seems to many a good idea because of what we hear and see, but what do we see, and quite frankly what do we actually hear. “CHANGE” It is easy to tell that our country is heading in the wrong direction, look at the approval rating of the president and congress; it doesn’t take a genius to see it. But Obama was the first to say it, but what exactly will he change, because everything he wants to change we have heard before. Everything he wants to change I heard from John Kerry four years ago, and why now, what makes it so special. Is it the war, the economy, or is it simply that we need someone else to blame and need someone to makes us feel better, so Obama is the person we tend to follow, and again why him? What is it that makes us feel so confident in this man, who isn’t in the arena, and has only been a spectator of the art of politics for just a few years. Years down the road we will hear of the consequences of this election, like we already hear from the election just four years ago, but we have to live through it. This is our generation and I don’t believe that we need to entirely change the system from out to in, but rather change from in to out. So again I ask you this, is McCain the man in the arena, for me I simply just answer this, he is at least in the arena, and Obama is sitting on the outside.
